Principal Electrical Engineer
Alex received his MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Alex has experience in the design and testing of medical devices since 2007. After a period of designing X-band radar IC for the defense industry, Alex returned to the university to focus on the use of various technologies in health care. He then followed his thesis on the use of Doppler radar for non-contact vital signs monitoring into the medical device start-up environment at Kai Medical. This allowed Alex to play several key roles in the device’s FDA 510(k) and European 93/42/EEC Medical Device Directive approvals. Alex also has previous medical device experience with Wave80 Biosciences and the Medtronic/ Ardian Renal Denervation generator R&D team in Mountain View, CA.
